Block unwanted referrals

Use fraud rules to stop referrals that should not earn commissions. Each program has its own rules.

Set your rules

1. Open Fraud protection.
2. Choose the rules you need.
3. Add URL keywords if needed, then save.
4. Read Blocked activity to check the result.

Block self-referrals checks for the same affiliate and customer email. It ignores letter case and spaces at the ends. It does not join different email aliases.

Block paid-ad referrals checks ad click IDs and paid campaign tags. You can also select Google, Bing, and YouTube ads. Organic search alone is allowed.

Social sources can block selected platforms, including their organic traffic. URL keywords match words in URL parameter values. You can add up to 50 keywords.

Block signups by country

1. Open Fraud protection.
2. Select countries under Blocked signup countries.
3. Click Save fraud rules.

New applications from those countries are blocked. Existing affiliates keep their access. Clear the list to allow applications from all countries.

The check uses the signup IP address. VPNs may change the country it finds. If the country cannot be checked while a block list is set, the applicant can try again later. Country data comes from DB-IP .

Review a block

The log shows the affiliate, stage, reason, and time. Use Suspend affiliate if you want to stop that affiliate’s new activity. Blocked signups have no affiliate account to suspend. A blocked event is not proof that a person meant to cheat.

Hidden or untagged ads may not be detected. These rules do not detect shared devices or linked accounts. Blocked clicks and suppressed Stripe payments stay blocked after you remove a rule. Old commission balances are not changed.
